A Tunis court recently slapped eight young Tunisians with prison sentences of up to 26 years for downloading files from the Internet. The charges against them included "forming a band to terrorize people" and "holding unauthorized meetings." Free speech advocates, including Reporters Without Borders (RWB), worry the case sets a dangerous precedent. The only evidence against the Tunisians was a few Internet files. "Just looking at Internet sites cannot be considered evidence of a terrorist plot," RWB said.
