This happened east of Najaf on Friday: "Pfc. Robert M. Friese, 21, of Chesterfield, Mich., died April 29 in Al Qadisiyah province, Iraq, of injuries sustained when enemy forces attacked his unit with a rocket propelled grenade. He was assigned to the 1st Squadron, 3rd Armored Cavalry Regiment, Fort Hood, Texas."
Word on the street is that even people who like Americans fear they can’t help in this part of Iraq, because we are going to be gone soon but the Sadrists will still be there. So it looks like the point is tipping, as locals seek to establish credibility in post-American Iraq.
