The Wall Street Journal editorial page blames President Obama more than it does Prime Minister Maliki. This seems to me incorrect. You can’t help someone who doesn’t want help.
The article argues that the fall of Mosul is "a strategic disaster," but fails to address the first strategic question, which is that removing Sunnis from power in Baghdad almost inevitably increased Iranian power in the region, and so provoked a powerful Sunni reaction.
