Watch Live as FP Honors Secretary of State John Kerry at Annual Diplomat of the Year Awards

Foreign Policy will be naming U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry as its Diplomat of the Year.

On Oct. 20, Foreign Policy will be naming U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry as its Diplomat of the Year. Kerry will be recognized for his hard work and key achievements, most notably his role in negotiating the Obama administration’s historic nuclear deal with Iran. Kerry is the latest in a distinguished list of diplomats honored with the award, including IMF Managing Director Christine Lagarde (2014), former U.S. Deputy Secretary of State William J. Burns (2013), and Chan Heng Chee, Singapore’s former ambassador to the United States (2012).

Two inaugural awards, Commercial Diplomat of the Year and Citizen Diplomat of the Year, will be presented to U.S. Secretary of Commerce Penny Pritzker and the Vital Voices Global Partnership, respectively.
