A Chinese matchmaking service is launching a love boat to pair off its country's millionaires to "good-looking and desirable" women. Male participants are required to have assets worth at least 2 million yuan ($250,000), although organizer Xu Tianli says that, "half of the men who registered for the event have more than 200 million yuan ($25 million) worth of assets." The requirements for women, however, seem much more obscure. So far, only 30 out of the 1,000 women who have applied have been successful. Xu contends that "only those who were attractive in every category can take part in this event."

The love boat will set sail on the Huangpu River on November 25. It seems that the matchmaking service is taking full advantage of the vast increase in wealth among Chinese businessmen – according to Forbes, the wealth of China’s 400 richest people has increased by 51 percent this year.
