Does diplomacy work when vicious killers are swarming around you? That's the challenge the U.S. State Department is facing this summer. Bet the folks down at the Pentagon are having a field day with this.
Despite their threatening name and fearsome appearance (they can grow up to two inches long) these cicada killer wasps are actually fairly harmless—so long as you don't bug 'em while they're mating. And, well, summertime is mating season. Maybe Condi should appoint a special envoy outside the department to inundate the wasps with missives and memos. Then there'll be peace and quiet for sure, right?
