Depending on whom you ask, McCain's more-dubious-by-the-minute VP pick Sarah Palin was either strongly opposed or all for Ted Steven's infamous "bridge to nowhere." But there's another massive public works project I want to know about. As long as Alaska's proximity to Russia is considered evidence of Palin's foreign policy credentials, I'm curious to know her stance on the $65 billion Bering Strait tunnel that Vladimir Putin and certain Russian oligarchs are chomping at the drill bit to start work on.

Ever since I first heard rumors about this I’ve had fantasies of driving from D.C. to Vladivostok. Perhaps Vice President Palin could make it happen.
