One of the major outstanding questions about the incoming administration of Barack Obama is what kind of vice president Joe Biden is he going to be. Will he be like Al Gore, focused on a major project like "reinventing government"? Will he be a kind of shadow president like Dick Cheney, taking the lead on foreign policy? Or will he largely stay out of sight, like Dan Quayle?

One of the major outstanding questions about the incoming administration of Barack Obama is what kind of vice president Joe Biden is he going to be. Will he be like Al Gore, focused on a major project like “reinventing government”? Will he be a kind of shadow president like Dick Cheney, taking the lead on foreign policy? Or will he largely stay out of sight, like Dan Quayle?

Politico‘s Glenn Thrush speculates that Biden’s primary role as vice president will be as Obama’s goodwill ambassador to Capitol Hill. His main qualification for the job? As he told the New Yorker in October, “I have never ever, ever screwed another senator.” Good to know.
