President Barack Obama announced his intent to nominate Lee Feinstein as U.S. ambassador to Poland. Feinstein, a senior fellow at the Brookings Institution, served as deputy director of the State Department policy planning office during the Cinton administration, and as the coordinator of outside foreign policy advisors to the Hillary Clinton primary campaign.

President Barack Obama announced his intent to nominate Lee Feinstein as U.S. ambassador to Poland. Obama also announced his intent to nominate Robert D. Hormats as under secretary of state for economic, energy, and agricultural affairs. Hormats, vice chairman of Goldman Sachs (International), previously served in several senior State Department posts, and is a member of the board of Foreign Policy.
