Even though English dominates the Internet, it’s easy to expand your linguistic outlook on the Human Languages Page (HLP), a comprehensive database of language resources. Tyler Chambers, a computer support specialist at Harvard University, launched the site in 1994. He has amassed and smartly organized 1,800 links for more than 100 languages. Bookmark HLP for access to 129 dictionaries and language lessons — most are free. You’ll find French and Spanish, of course, but also dozens of obscure languages.
