This note just came in from Jim Warnock, who reported that his son's German wife, who took care of his son after the son was wounded in Iraq, was having a hard time getting a visa to enter the United States. Congratulations to all of you who sent notes about this situation yesterday to involved government officials -- I think you had an effect.

That was quick! The U.S. Consul himself called Sabrina earlier today to say that everything is in order with her visa. She can pick it up Thursday and will be here on Friday. 

It took your blog and calls from the offices of Sen. Lugar and Congressman Burton to get this done.  Hopefully the consul will be more sympathetic to U. S. soldiers in the future.
