Several sources are reporting that Amr Moussa is stepping down as head of the Arab League.  This is presumably the first step in a run for the Egyptian presidency. He has already made his intentions fairly clear:

"I am available to my country," Moussa said in an interview broadcast Friday on Europe 1, a French radio station. "I am ready to serve as a citizen who is entitled to be a candidate."

Moussa is both a more charismatic figure and is better recognized by most Egyptians that opposition leader Mohamed ElBaradei. Presidential elections are scheduled for September but the military has suggested that the timetable might now be moved up
