Peter Eigen, founder of Transparency International, the world’s leading anti-corruption monitoring NGO and now Chairman of the Berlin Center on Civil Society, has been a good governance crusader throughout his career. Here he discusses the quest for for reform in Arab governments in the aftermath of the recent Mideast uprisings, and the Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (EITI) which now operates in over a dozen countries and brings greater accountability to payments made in oil and mineral rich countries.
