Training Postcard: In this photo, working dog handler Staff Sgt. Juan Hinojosia, 6th Security Forces Squadron military, and his MWD Rick search for a decoy suspect during water training on Oct. 15, in Tampa, FL. A dog needs to be prepared to protect and defend his handler and his unit at all times, going wherever they go, and this training allows the dogs to be safely introduced to controlled aggression in water and is key to determining how a dog will react once they’re in the water.
Here, Ryan Flannigan, Tampa Police Department canine handler, assists Zoran, 6th Security Forces squadron military working dog, in building up his water skills.
All in all, not a bad place to spend a day’s work.
