The world’s eyes and ears have been locked on Paris this week since Wednesday’s brutal attacks on Charlie Hebdo, the aftermath of which is still unfolding. This is a photo of a a French gendarme and his police dog while they train in Monnaie, France, on May 30, 2014.
At many points over the years on this series have said that though they may be part of domestic forces, our homeland security and police K-9 teams are a part of our War Dog community. We’re thinking of those teams here — and in Paris this week — as I have to imagine they are almost certainly offering their support on the ground just as our K-9 teams did here in the wake of the Boston Marathon bombings.
