Secretary of State John Kerry will raise the American flag over the newly opened U.S. Embassy in Cuba on Friday morning, an important symbolic step as Washington and Havana restore diplomatic relations after more than five decades of hostility.

He’ll be joined by a large delegation that includes three retired Marines, who lowered the flag when ties were broken more than 54 years ago. Watch a video of the ceremony below.
