Retired Army Brig. Gen. Tony Tata had two affairs while on active duty, reports Bruce Siceloff of the Raleigh News & Observer.

After retiring in 2008, Tata became a school superintendent and was fired from that job. He later became North Carolina’s transportation secretary, but left that job this last summer. He has said he is considering running for Congress.

There also is a question about a mysterious forged document that was submitted to a court looking at child support issues.

General Tata also has side careers writing thrillers and appearing on Fox News.
