It is never clear to me what these people want. Should we be more like the Islamic State? I don’t think so. Go in that direction and you’ve lost a major reason you are fighting them.
Meanwhile, here is interesting footage of a Taliban talking to Afghan civilians at a highway checkpoint. His polite but firm message was that if you split with the government, we won’t harm you.
