Obama Takes to Twitter to Slam GOP Critics of Syrian Resettlement Plans
President Obama just went on a twitter rant, blasting the GOP for opposing his Syrian resettlement plans.
More than half of American governors say they won’t resettle incoming Syrian refugees, and Republican presidential candidates, including Jeb Bush and Sen. Ted Cruz, are suggesting Christians should be given asylum in the United States before Muslims. President Barack Obama took to Twitter Wednesday to push back.

Obama has personally tweeted fewer than 170 times from his personal account, so a series of six messages in less than an hour is notable. You can view them below, but Obama disputes the notion that inviting Syrian refugees to the United States — he wants to resettle at least 10,000 more next year — would make the United States vulnerable to a terrorist attack, like the one in Paris last week that killed 129. Republicans point to reports that at least one of the assailants posed as a Syrian refugee to enter Europe.
Obama’s message is getting traction, at least on social media. Each of the messages has been retweeted and liked thousands of times.
