The major reason I decided to convene a “Council of the Former Enlisted” was to amplify the voice of the enlisted in policy discussions. After all, there is more of them, so shouldn’t we hear from them?
So I was pleased to see when one member of the Council, Sebastian Bae, popped up in War on the Rocks with an interesting meditation on how the ’91 Gulf “War” seduced America into thinking that fighting in the Middle East was easy.
