Roadmap for Economic Recovery: Lessons from South Africa

Foreign Policy and Brand South Africa partnered to discuss what economies can do to recover from the market slump, how leading African nations are reacting to the crisis, and investment opportunities on the continent, given the current climate.

The COVID-19 global pandemic has caused ripples through global financial markets as the virus continues to spread across the globe and governments battle to find the right measures to contain it. As the situation continues to evolve, African policymakers are already taking decisive steps to protect their citizens and economies from the pandemic.

As nations are grappling with the dual shock to public health and economy, business leaders, governments and the finance community can draw on key insights from the past to help ensure that their countries emerge from this crisis stronger and more resilient than before.
