This season will challenge the Western model of conservation and explore green infrastructure.

Introducing Season 2 of Africa Forward, a podcast supported by the African Wildlife Foundation and produced by FP Studios. In this season, host Carol Pineau explores green infrastructure, Africa’s tremendous biodiversity, and how African-led conservation may not only help save endangered species but also the planet.

The show will also challenge the Western model of conservation. That system, which was started under colonialism, protected nature by walling it off from people. It made it so that Africans, who for millennia had coexisted—and protected—nature could no longer access their own traditional lands.

Get ready for a tour of the continent, seeing how African-led conservation is changing the way Africa sees its biodiversity—not just protecting it but sustainably using it to create a biodiverse economy that can be a driver of social and economic development.

Heat of the Moment

The climate change crisis can feel so formidable, so daunting, that instead of mobilizing people to action, it engenders paralysis. What could we mortals possibly do to prevent the calamity? A fair bit, it turns out. On Heat of the Moment, a 10-part podcast by FP Studios, in partnership with the Climate Investment Funds, we focus on ordinary people across the globe who have found ways to fight back. Hosted by CNN contributor John D. Sutter, Heat of the Moment tells the stories of the people on the front lines of the fight against climate change. The Climate Investment Funds is a nonpartisan champion of climate action. Political views and opinions expressed in this series do not necessarily represent those of the Climate Investment Funds or its partners.
