

Salmond met with Prime Minister David Cameron for talks on Feb. 16, and the Scottish government has signaled its intention to hold a vote on the issue of independence in the near future, though the date has not yet been determined. Cameron was reportedly unhappy with the outcome of the talks, though he agreed that the Scottish people should get to vote -- as quickly as possible -- whether they want independence.
Whatever they decide, one thing is certain: Oil will continue to play a large role in Scotland's future.
