Dr. Mayesha Alam

Dr. Mayesha Alam is Senior Vice President of Research at FP Analytics where she manages the research team and leads research development. Most recently, she was a Senior Fellow at the United Nations University Centre for Policy Research (UNUCPR), where she authored publications and was frequently interviewed by international media. She previously helped establish and served as deputy director of the Georgetown Institute for Women, Peace, and Security. Over the course of her career, Dr. Alam has also worked with the United Nations, World Bank, and Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe as well as various nongovernmental organizations on international peace and security. Dr. Alam is the author of two books, Women and Transitional Justice and, with Dr. Robert Egnell, Women and Gender Perspectives in the Military, as well as reports on conflict, cyber, climate change, and health. Her scholarship has been reviewed in the LSE Review of BooksNaval War College ReviewForbes, International Sociology, and U.S. Air Force's Air University Press, while her commentary has appeared in The Washington Post, CNN, NPR, Newsweek, and elsewhere. Dr. Alam teaches at Johns Hopkins SAIS and holds a Ph.D. in political science from Yale University.
