Alexander Vershbow is a distinguished fellow at the Atlantic Council, senior advisor at the University of Pennsylvania’s Perry World House, and former U.S. ambassador to NATO and Russia, assistant defense secretary, and NATO deputy secretary-general. He is a member of the Alphen Group, where he participated in developing the Atlantic Charter 2025.
