Mashuq Kurt is an associate professor of sociology at Royal Holloway, University of London. His research focuses on Kurds and Kurdistan, political Islam, Turkey, and the Kurdish and Turkish diasporas. His writing has appeared in Le Monde, BBC Monitoring, and Open Democracy, among others.
