Mehdi Khalaji
<p>Mehdi Khalaji is a senior fellow at the Washington Institute for Near
East Policy and the author of Apocalyptic
Politics; on the Rationality of Iranian Policy. </p><p>Robert Pastor is a professor and co-director of the Center for
Democracy and Election Management at American University. He developed the
election-monitoring initiatives of the Carter Center in Atlanta and has
organized the observation of elections in about forty countries.</p>
